Course Information

Mental Health Awareness, Action & Supervision

Essential courses for your staff to recognise, report and support children and young people at risk or suffering from mental health issues.

Our 1 day course is for SLT and School Leaders who are required to monitor processes and support staff who are working with children and putting support in place.

We explore supervision and support systems.

A one day course aimed at pastoral teams or staff directly working with children at risk of, or suffering, mental health issues.

We explore aspects of challenging behaviour, support systems, strategies and monitoring as part of a whole agency approach.

This short course is for ALL staff who work with children.

We look at the signs of mental health issues and what to do when we spot them.

When dealing with challenging behaviour in schools it is very easy to concentrate and focus on just the behaviour itself.

However, we must do more to understand exactly where the behaviour is coming from. In understanding this we can put interventions in place for the long term.

Our programme aims to do exactly that. We equip staff on all levels to recognise issues and put strategies into place to help support children and young people who are suffering from mental health issues.

We look at recognition systems and ways to support young people in crisis; we explore monitoring systems to help gather evidence to identify patterns; we discuss ways to verbally deal with children displaying challenging behaviours and we look at external organisational support for you and your staff.

As from January 2018, such training will be compulsory for all schools in the UK. We can provide training to satisfy this requirement but also offer continued support long after our training is completed.

These course were created by Jonathan Cotterill-Bolsover, Director of Concentric Training and Consultancy Ltd and Dan Stevens, Director of  Frontline Community Protection Ltd

Client Testimonials

The courses were all full of relevant and up to date information that supported us to deliver a curriculum that supports the needs of our children. The course were delivered in a fun, engaging and interesting way with a good balance of group work, and independent learning but also the opportunity to focus on certain children are identifying their needs. I found this particularly useful. All of the course left the teachers and leaders with things to go away and implement staff were inspired to make changes.
